Happy Bivouac is the culmination of the pillows' experimentation throughout their golden trio. It has an astounding emotional range, dipping into the grungier emo that Stalker and Sad Sad Kiddie dipped into, with emotional highs of Crazy Sunshine and Beautiful Morning with you. Last Dinosaur is a brilliant song which calms the album down, leading into Carnival and Our love and peace It has the same manic energy of Runners high in its closer, Advice, and in crazy sunshine. With brilliant works of power Pop like Rush. The Pillows' album pacing peaks with this, the slow songs intersparcing the frenetic ones to create an experience with no skippable songs. Really, its their peak, the quintesenttial album. If you listen to just one of their albums, it HAS to be this one. Like I own this on casette, and plan on getting a CD soon. This is their peak, don't let anyone tell you anything else.
